I’d like you all to meet Ethel Northbrook – a character without a story and (occasionally) my alter ego (if you visit this BLOG you’ll know what I mean). Anyway, today my paper self is indulging in a bit of witch-and-pumpkin impersonation fun.

Monday, October 31st, 2011some news of this and that
Sunday, April 10th, 2011I’ve started working on a new project and I can’t tell you how excited I am! I haven’t written anything new for a year. It was pretty tough at first with only about 200 words a day, but I’ve been scribbling away madly since yesterday and, boy, do I love the feeling! I don’t know how long it’ll last and I hope not to jinx it, but I intend to finish Chapter One today.
I’ve also started Fanny Burney Appreciation Blog and I’ll remove all the posts that I made on her thither. I also invite those of you who would like to establish a closer acquaintance with Jane Austen’s favourite author, learn about her life and read her works to join me there.
I think I wanted to tell you something else, but for the life of me I cannot remember what!
Oh! Once I pressed the ‘Publish Post’ button I remembered! Tomorrow I’m having a guest blogger at Regency Sketches – Jean Hart Stewart – who will speak about her writing and her newest historical romance “For Love Is New”. So stop by!
By the way, I have two spots available for June: June 6 for a guest interview and June 20 for a guest blog.
I’m looking for guest bloggers! (Regency, Victorian, Edwardian eras)
Tuesday, April 5th, 2011Is your novel set in Regency, Victorian or Edwardian England? Would you like to have a guest spot and talk about your latest book and its characters or share an interesting bit of information pertaining to one of these eras? Then go ahead and grab your guest spot right now!
For more information contact me at faridamestek@yahoo.com with a guest blog request in the Subject Line.
A Public Journal of a Regency Gentlewoman
Saturday, July 24th, 2010I am experimenting with some journal writing again, but this time I’ve decided to describe my everyday life from the perspective of a regency lady. You can check out my first entry at A Public Journal of a Regency Gentlewoman.
Hello and Welcome!
Saturday, June 26th, 2010My name is Farida Mestek. I live in Ukraine, but I adore Regency England, where I spend a great deal of my time. I fell in love with it the moment I saw one of the film productions on TV when I was a child, and my love and fascination grew and solidified with every Jane Austen book that I read and reread time and time again.
Having been writing all of my life, I decided to write Regency-set stories myself. At present I have a long queue of characters who wait most impatiently to have their stories told. My dream is to build a Regency village, the aim of which would be to provide Regency-lovers from around the world with a veritable Regency lifestyle experience.
Apart from traditional (and slightly less so) Regency-set stories, I like writing fairy-tales. My long fairy-tale “Almendra”, published by Girlebooks, is setting the beginning of an epic three-book fantasy series that I have been working on and off for more than ten years.
